Bhukkad Balak Reviews: Gup Shup Restaurant, Ibn Batuta Mall, Dubai

Happened to visit the recently opened place Gup Shup, located in the Ibn Batuta Mall, Dubai. Essentially serving quick bites in a desi street food-esque style, Gup Shup has a quirky college canteen quirky vibe with bright warm colours and sketches plastered across its wall.

Living up to its name, Gup Shup sure serves as a fun place to start conversations, catch up with friends old and new, and break the ice. And if it’s not the company, the food sure would get you talking.

The first thing you’ll notice in the menu is it doesn’t try to be smarter than it is. Save a few signature dishes, the menu isn’t proliferated with wannabe quirky quotes, irrelevant filmy dialogues, indecipherable descriptions. So kudos to the management for getting straight to the point.

On my visit, I tried:

1. Food: Gup Shup Special Pizza, Fusilli Alfredo Pasta with Garlic Bread, Gossip Mongers (Chaat Platter), and Momos

3. Desserts: Fruit cream, Mango cream, Chikoo cream, and Strawberry cream

The food can surely be categorised here as good. It delivers what it promised – a tasty quick bite. The drinks I tried were equally refreshing. They do quench your thirst and leave you feeling breezy and happy.  The Pink Panther though totally stands out and is a must-try.

For me, it is the desserts that stole the show. Each fruit cream comes with a unique blend of creamy flavours bursting with natural fruity goodness. Definitely the highlight of my evening.

Was quite full after all this so missed their signature Paan Patakha, trying this next time for sure.

So guys, if you’re headed towards the Ibn Batuta Mall or are in its vicinity, do make a pitstop at Gup Shup.

See you soon with a new restaurant, and a new review. Follow Bhukkad Balak and be a part of my food journey.
