Bhukkad Balak Reviews: Sadak Chaap, Karama, Dubai

Restaurant review – Sadak Chaap, Karama, Dubai📝

Among the myriad range of restaurants that Karama boasts of, we recently tried Sadak Chaap. Sadak Chaap is a pure vegetarian restaurant that specialises in Soya chaap based dishes and is aptly partially named after it. It owes the other half of its name to the selection of desi street food its menu boasts of.

On our visit, we ordered:

1. Bihari Chaap:

Authentic Bihari Littis dipped in ghee served with home-style chaap curry. Every bite a reminder of the litti chokha sabzi memory back home.

2. Biryani Chaap:

An intensely flavorful and aromatic layered North Indian style biryani replete with ‘khade masale’. Truth be told, I might ditch a chicken biryani for a plate of this biryani chaap.

3. Katappa Kachori:

A simple aloo masala kachori served super hot and tastes great. Only problem, why call it Katappa? Raises expectations unnecessarily.

4. Couple Thali:

A wholesome meal for two, it comes with two thalis. It includes a choice of bread, chaap pieces in a thick Punjabi style gravy, Lucknowi chaap (more like malai tikka), chaas (buttermilk), and some salad by the side. Each dish in the thali made to perfection.

In short, Sadak Chaap doesn’t try to be pretentious. Its personality is simple, humble, and soulful.❣ But it scores high where it really matters, the food. Worth a try, and repeated visits.

See you soon with a new restaurant, and a new review. Follow Bhukkad Balak and be a part of my food journey.
